COVID-19 Update

A note for our customers:

The new Executive Order issued on April 24th, 2020, by Governor Whitmer now allows boating with a motor once again, as well as limited marina operations.  Great news!!  We will begin to launch boats for the season starting on Monday, April 27th, however, there will be some changes to how we have launched in the past, as well as several limitations to our normal, daily operations.  These changes are being implemented to keep our employees, customers, vendors, and friends as safe as possible, as well as to maximize our efficiency in getting everyone’s boat in the water as quickly, and as safely as possible.  Here are some of the changes:

  1. Our offices and parts/supply store will remain closed to the public and customers until at least May 29th. This is being done to limit direct person to person contact, however, the office will be staffed, so we will be onsite.  You are more than welcome to call the office with questions, to have us set aside parts/supplies for you to pick up outside, or schedule an appointment to look at your boat for service needs
  2. We always do our best to “move a boat out of the way” for a later launch if it is blocking another boat and you do not wish to be launched at the time. We would ask for more flexibility this year that rather than “move the boat out of way” which causes a slowdown and delay, and ultimately extends the launch season.  This year we will simply launch your boat when we get to it in the building.  We will always let you know when that happens.
  3. Our primary focus right now is on safely and efficiently launching boats so everyone can get on the water and start enjoying the boating season! This includes making sure your boat is safe and operating properly.  However, there may be a delay in getting certain, non-essential services done right away, and those may need to wait until later in the season (buffing, waxing, varnish, gelcoat, etc).  In addition, we may not be able to lake test each boat upon launch as we have done in previous years.
  4. As per Section 15 of the State Guidelines effective April 26, 2020, masks must be worn when in any enclosed public space. For your protection and ours, we ask that you please adhere to this at all times.

We will continue to keep you updated as best we can, and we thank you for your understanding of the changes being implemented during this time.  We are here to make your summer boating season as enjoyable as possible, and we are confident that we will be able to do just that.  Thank you again so much for your confidence in us, and please call us at 231-889-5000 with any questions.
